School Meals
We are proud that we are partnered with Aspens. Schools are the ideal place for children to start their food adventures, so it’s the best time to encourage healthy food habits. Children know what they like and like what they know! We make sure that our Food Festival menus are packed with comfort dishes and at the same time, we help pupils take their first steps with new tastes to explore. There’s a big difference in the appetites and needs of children as they progress through primary school, so we take this into consideration with our portion sizes. This not only cuts down on waste but also makes sure that there’s enough food and choice for everyone.

Special Diets and Allergies
Aspens can provide food if your child have an intolerance, an allergy, or require an alternative choice due to religious beliefs. Aspens will work closely with you to provide meals that are appropriate and tasty for your child to eat. This must be completed before any specials menus can be produced. Please fill this out and give it back to the office ASAP if your child has any.

EYFS & KS1 - Infant pupils (Reception, Year 1 & 2)
All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are currently entitled to receive FREE SCHOOL MEALS from the Government. Therefore home packed lunches will not be an option for Reception, Yr 1 & 2 children. We believe all children should take up school lunches available to them for the following reasons;
- lunches are free (an average meal deal in supermarkets is between £3.60 - £5.00)
- quality of food
- nutritionally balanced meal
Our staff have noticed that a number of our children’s concentration and behaviour worsens in the afternoons. Research shows a healthy balanced diet promotes effective learning.
KS2 - Junior pupils (Years 3-6)
The cost of a school dinner is currently £2.70 for children in KS2. Please ensure you have ordered your child's lunch through the swift kitchen app daily. You can choose from the main meal, vegetarian option, jacket potato, pasta or a school packed lunch. Alternatively, pupils can bring an appropriate home packed lunch as long as it follows the guidelines set out in the below sheet.
If you think your child may be entitled to free school meals, please see further details below or contact the school office.
Packed Lunches (Years 3 to 6 only)
Children in KS2 only, not having a school meal should bring a packed lunch. If you include a drink, please do not send fizzy drinks or drinks in a glass container. Energy drinks such as Monster, Red Bull or Prime are not permitted within school. Children have access to fresh water. Please avoid including chocolate, sweets or other unhealthy foods as part of your child’s packed lunch.
Some of our pupils have a nut allergy and to avoid any problems at school, please do not include any items containing nuts in your child's packed lunch.
